Marty Dickinson

Marty Dickinson was appointed to the Board of Regents in September 2018. She is a leading marketing executive who has guided the growth of numerous Spokane business and civic organizations across a wide range of industries. A passionate leader with more than 27 years of marketing, branding, communications, and organizational management experience, Regent Dickinson’s expertise lies in leading through uncertainty and helping teams look forward.

A WSU graduate and native of Spokane, Regent Dickinson has remained a dedicated advocate for the public and her alma mater. Over the course of her career, she has held executive positions with the Spokane Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Spokane Partnership, Umpqua Bank, and STCU. She also spearheaded the successful Leaders for a WSU Medical School effort to change the state charter to let WSU teach medicine.

In her current role as the Chief Marketing Officer at STCU, Regent Dickinson utilizes her managerial expertise to oversee brand marketing, community relations, government affairs, and facilities. Before joining STCU in 2019, Regent Dickinson served as the executive vice president of culture enhancement at Umpqua Bank where she led the integration of 4,500 associates and the shaping of the bank’s iconic and progression culture. Prior to joining Umpqua Bank, Regent Dickinson championed her hometown as the president of the Downtown Spokane Partnership for six years. As president, she helped attract more than $3 billion in urban reinvestment to enhance the city’s downtown district. Her private sector work includes key management and high-level marketing roles in the telecommunications industry at NEXTLINK, XO Communications, Cellular One, and AT&T Wireless.

A leader in her community, Regent Dickinson has served on the boards of several organizations, including the advisory boards for WSU Spokane and the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, the Spokane Public Facilities District, the State of Washington Regence/Blue Shield Foundation, Greater Spokane Incorporated, and the Association of Washington Businesses.
