Office: Member (Student Regent)
Term Expires: June 30, 2017
Narek Daniyelyan was appointed to the Board of Regents July 1, 2016, by Washington by Governor Jay Inslee. A graduate student pursuing a master’s degree at WSU Vancouver, he obtained an AA degree from Clark College before graduating from WSU Vancouver in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development.
Daniyelyan began his master’s degree studies in 2013 and has continued working at Clark College, where he currently engages with local schools, businesses and other higher education institutions to create and maintain mutually beneficial student partnership agreements.
His other past work includes serving as a recruitment specialist for Clark College, as a recreation leader for the City of Vancouver, and as an intern with the Clark County Juvenile Court system. Daniyelyan has served as vice president of the Associated Students of WSU Vancouver and has held a variety of other student leadership positions, including serving as a student ambassador and as director of Leadership Development for ASWSU-Vancouver.
Daniyelyan attributes his interest in serving as the WSU student to a strong passion for higher education and his belief that becoming a Coug has been the “greatest experience of my life.” He has said he intends to work with current board members on some of the pressing initiatives for the year, and serve as a liaison between students and the board.
